Location
Kaibab Camper Village is in a remote area on the north side of the Grand Canyon. We are about 45 miles from the canyon rim and about the same distance to the nearest towns—Fredonia, AZ and Kanab, UT—in northwest Arizona near the AZ-UT stateline border. The campground is at an elevation of 8,000 feet which can cause difficulties for those with respiratory or heart problems.
The campground is in a ponderosa pine forest with lots of places to hike and explore. The average day temps seldom get higher than 85 degrees F in the summer. By late September and October nights can get down to freezing. Seldom do we have much snow before the end of season, but snow is possible at opening.
